Ben Bogen is a recent Washington DC resident after being NYC-based for 9 years as a performer, teacher, and choreographer. He has been teaching musical theatre to students since he was 15 years old, working as a counselor/ director/choreographer at the JCC youth theatre camp in Walnut Creek CA. Ben grew up doing shows as a kid and was inspired to pursue a career as an actor. A graduate of The University of Michigan with a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre, Ben was offered his equity card at the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera between his junior and senior years of college. After graduation, Ben appeared in the world premiere of SOUSATZKA starring Tony Award winner Victoria Clark in Toronto.

A few months later, he made his principal/National Tour debut at age of 23 as the alternate for Frankie Valli in the Broadway Tour of the Tony Award-winning musical JERSEY BOYS (making Ben one of the youngest actors in history of the production to alternate for the role while serving as assistant dance captain). Soon after concluding the tour, Ben made his Broadway debut in the ensemble of Disney’s FROZEN, understudying the principal roles of Olaf and Duke Weselton.

During the height of the pandemic, Ben made his television co-star debut in the final episode of the hit series POSE on FX. He continued to coach, teach, and choreograph in person and virtually for programs nationwide. He then went on to write/direct/choreograph/star in his critically acclaimed one-man solo show, TEENAGE DREAM, at The Green Room 42. Soon after, he joined the NY Off-Broadway Company of JERSEY BOYS and subsequently the national tour of WICKED playing 4 different roles in 4 months. Other highlights include Mark Cohen in RENT (ACT of CT), Pepper in MAMMA MIA (NC Theatre), Frankie Valli in JERSEY BOYS (White Plains Performing Arts Center), ONLY HUMAN (Off-Broadway), THE FLAMINGO KID (Hartford Stage), and two summer seasons at Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera.

Ben has taught masterclasses at camps, grade schools, after-school theatre programs, and colleges in 13 states and even internationally for a program in the UK via zoom. In June 2023, Ben will choreograph JERSEY BOYS at Sierra Repertory Theatre in CA.

Ben is passionate about teaching master classes and coaching young actors of all levels nationwide and hopes to inspire the next generation to pursue the performing arts.
